We droped… we fell, into the planets atmoshpere. They fired wildly into space with their artillery, hitting few of our pods. A Very ineffective method of defense for our shock and awe. Our fleet engaged theirs. WE dropped to knockout their space artillery, it would quickly rip our carrier group into bits. Our Ret-noffs penetrated the athmoshpere along with our pods. They swim through their airspace, like pirrahnas hunting for their next meal. They find a destroyer, lifting off, its sheilds still down due to the takeoff. They pierce through as a spear would flesh, ripping through the ship as a firery explosion engulfs it. They then break off to combate the mounting airiel defensive. Our pod crashes into an escarpment. Below us, a fifty yard drop, and about three feilds, and one of their artillery defense complexes. A Bolt of pain flows through my body… The carrier that spawned us has been slain. They’re focusing fire on the fleet now. I recover my composeur, i turn to look at my bond sisters. They shake off the pain and form their blades. A squadron of Ret-noffs heads toward the complex, we hitch a ride down the cliff. We get a running start, and leap off the eascarpment, grabbing onto the backs of the Ret-noffs as they nosedive down the cliff. The Ret-noffs fire upon Theronine armor engaging some of our infantry. They knock out two out of three of the mechs, we drop off the Ret-noffs to engage a deploying troop carrier. A gaurd tackles the mech, enraged at the death one of his brother, knocking it down, and destroying it. I land on a theronine, my sword deep in his chest. A laser hits my shoulder, my softgel writhes in pain, but sustains, absorbing all the heat. My borther throws a bolt of plasontium at him, hitting the rifle. The solder draws his blade. We spar. I end up getting my arm slashed, and his blood on my sword. A bundle of vines grows into wound, sealing it closed. A charge of plastionium rips through the air, my breath crystillizes. The charge hits the carrier, knocking out it’s gun. The gaurd charges in, and bashes a Theronine with his sheilds. I finished off the last soldier. We head to the complex, now we have 2 gaurds and 4 hastatii sqauds. We approch the base. A dead Ret-noff, crashed against the wall of the complex. Awat from the dead fighter, a hole melted into the wall. We’re sixtey feet from the hole, and take fire from the walls. Heavy laser fire. The gaurds faces their sheilds towards the fire. The sheild bearers join the gaurds to create a sheild wall. We press towards the hole, the fire increases. A Nibe fires a charge at an emplacement, disentigrating it. Twenty feet. My sisters and i break away from the sheild wall, and leap onto the face of the wall and quickly scale it. A few of the defenders have swords drawn, as i reach the top. The first attacks me, i manage to knock out their footing and casue them to fall off the wall. A laser strikes me. My softgel confulses, dying. I drop to my spikes in pain. A sheild sister comes to my aid blocking the laser. a knight runs through the attacker. She replaces my softgel with her spare. We take the wall. An explosion on the otherside of the complex. A squardron of Ret-noff spiral upwards above the base. and break apart into their pilots. They fall into the base and engage. Our attacking force encounters a platoon of Theronine. They are joined by the pilots. I look over the wall into the feild. More of our infantry are aproaching. Two sucsessfull beetles were formed by deployed gaurds and scurrying towards us. They fire plastonium towards the large artillery pieces. The first bolt lands in the fray of battle, and the second hits an artillery piece. It still stands, and fires another round at our fleet. I finally recover enough stamina to fight, and my hastatii jumps into the fray. The battle ensues. The beetles focus fire at target pieces. The first falls after four strikes. The second a Nibe aided in its destruction. And the third was knocked out by a sqadron of Ret-noff. After the complex fell, a City Siege Unit dropped. It’s massive body cause temors to ripple through the ground. The battle for this planet is just begining…
We shall never fall! Ga transinions shall come, but we, we shall overcome!” general Eaga inspirationally spoke over the microphone. “For over a hundred years this war has raged! We have been on losing end of it for several decades, but now it has come to Verki! Verki, this planet, it has been our home for millennia! I will damned if it will ever fall into any transinions hands! You my soldiers, you are will be the transinion’s bane, from ga moment they set foot, until ga moment they retreat with their tails between their legs, if we don’t kill ‘em all before they get the chance to.” General Eaga chuckeled. “Now go! Go to your posts, and prepare for the worst fight of your lives! And when we fight, fight for Ga Empirug, fight for Thero, and fight for your families honor!”
My unit dispersed from the formation, we all knew what we had to do. We went to the armory. We all grabbed what we could carry. I grabbed a MK-II Yip-ke style pistol, a case of HE grenades, and a Guln-dar shoulder mounted laser cannon prototype. Then I went to my officer’s locker and retrieved my father’s transinion buster, a prototype laser rifle, modded with high capacity cycler, an over charged battery, and a titanium bayonet.
My son stood at the rifle rake frozen and shivering, I approached him and placed my hand on his crown. “Is it true what General Eaga said, about the battle?” he asked.
“Every word of it my son. It will be rough for you, but you will prevail, I will make sure of it.” I said, wrapping my tail around his. “Now dawn your armor, grab your gun, and let us go to Ga Krahulg, iklan.”
I stepped outside the armory, the gunboat was waiting to take my unit to the Krahulg, its crew was already there, preping it for combat, we are to be its ground team, incase anything goes awry, which knowing the impending invasion, it will. As I went to the gunboat, I looked to the sky. What I saw was devastating, the sky was on fire with a crashing ship. The ship, on of ours, was split in half and tumbling downwards, it was terrible. I couldn’t help but think what was its crew was experiencing, but that is the price all of us are willing to pay for Ga Empirug. Suddenly the blast from the ship entering the atmosphere hit. The ground rumbled, dust kicked up, the trees twisted and swayed, and I was knocked to the ground. I got up, and checked my WC, the calculated impact zone for the ship was in the ocean away form on any population zones.
I continued to the gunboat. It was waiting on a landing pad, its crew was just finishing up with loading extra munitions and supplies. I boarded the craft to find an other squad loaded too. As soon as my squad arrived we took off. There was a long silence in the ride to the Krahulg. As we neared the Krahulg base we heard an announcement over the comm, “Our fleet has been defeated, transinion invasion is eminent.” We landed at the base. The commanding officer of the base was waiting at the pad. Our two squads exited the drop ship, the other squads kratof and I bowed before him and spoke in unison as we were trained, “We stand ready for orders, iklan!”
“Rise, iklan, let us go now, they are coming soon.” the commander said, as his tail tapped our hands. We made our way to the Krahulg, It was much larger than I had imagined, I stood only just above its foot, I peered upwards, the Krahulg’s artillery piece must have fired a round larger then my body, the damage it could do… I lost myself in my thoughts of how much pure destructive power this weapon had, and how big of a chunk it would take away from the transinions.
Sound therapists and Manchester band Marconi Union compiled the song. Scientists played it to 40 women and found it to be more effective at helping them relax than songs by Enya, Mozart and Coldplay.
Weightless works by using specific rhythms, tones, frequencies and intervals to relax the listener. A continuous rhythm of 60 BPM causes the brainwaves and heart rate to synchronise with the rhythm: a process known as ‘entrainment’. Low underlying bass tones relax the listener and a low whooshing sound with a trance-like quality takes the listener into an even deeper state of calm.
